Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), the honor society of IEEE, is dedicated to encouraging and recognizing individual excellence in education and meritorious work, in professional practice, and in any of the areas within the IEEE-designated fields of interest. Members consist of students, alumni, and professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments. Student members are selected on the basis of scholastic standing, character, and leadership. At UCSD, HKN provides free tutoring and hosts a variety of workshops and events to promote technical, professional, and academic development.

An organisation dedicated to promoting women in engineering and science. We help women achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

Engineering World Health

Engineering World Health (EWH) at UCSD is a student organization committed to designing low-cost medical devices for limited resource communities. With a number of project teams and open workshops, we offer students the opportunity to develop engineering research and hands-on design skills. We are a collaborative community of motivated, internationally aware individuals with a passion for global health.

Triton Racing

Through the collaboration of students, advisors, and alumni, Triton Racing designs and builds a formula-style racecar each year from scratch to compete in the international Formula SAE competition with hundreds of college students. Our multidisciplinary team enables students to gain real-world experience by working on a project that combines design, manufacturing, testing, marketing, research, and management.

Note: We are registered as an organization with the school as Society of Automotive Engineers, but we currently only do the Formula SAE competition where we compete as Triton Racing. It is how we present ourselves to other students as well as the community and local and national companies.
