
MAE Associate Teaching Professor Huihui Qi received multiple honors for her outstanding teaching at UC San Diego, including the 2025 Distinguished Teaching Award from the UC San Diego Academic Senate Committee on Senate Awards. This award is presented annually to a select group of UC San Diego community members, including Senate faculty, non-Senate faculty, and graduate students, in recognition of an extraordinary commitment to educational excellence. It particularly highlights individuals who demonstrate innovation and inspiration in their instructional methods.
Qi was also honored with the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) 2024–2025 Archie Higdon Distinguished Educator Award, presented annually by the ASEE Mechanics Division for exceptional contributions to engineering education. She was selected for her deep-rooted dedication to advancing and improving mechanics education.
